Opening Line Set For Auburn vs. Georgia Game

In the 123rd renewal of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, No. 5 Georgia hosts Auburn under the lights on Saturday.

On Sunday, Vegas opened the betting line with Georgia as a 13.5-point favorite.

No. 5 ranked Georgia (8-1, 5-1) leads the all-time series against Auburn 58-56-8 and has won 12 out of the last 17 in the series. Auburn (6-3, 3-3) is coming off a 28-24 win over Texas A&M on the Plains while the Bulldogs clinched the SEC East crown with a 34-17 road victory over Kentucky.

Coach Kirby Smart summed up the feeling between the SEC rivals on Saturday.

“Auburn, when it comes to Auburn you know how that goes. They don’t like us and we get it, and they’ve got a really good football team,” Smart said. “It’ll be at home, and our guys, we respect Auburn….they’ve got a good football team. They did a hell of a job today coming back and winning. So we know we’ll be in for a really good game.”

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Sanford Stadium and the game will be nationally televised by ESPN.
