D'Andre Swift Reached Rare Company Saturday With Touchdown Run

Georgia sophomore running back D’Andre Swift has reached Herschel Walker, in one particular statistic.

The four-star Philadelphia phenom tied Walker on his 77-yard touchdown run for the most scores in a season from 75 or more yards out.

Swift may be tied with Walker in this statistic but there is a lot of ground to make up if he wants to catch the Heisman Trophy winner in total yards.

Currently at 1,426 rushing yards, the sophomore is 3,833 away from Walker’s record.  However, this deficit should not diminish the success Swift has had in Athens.

Walker was the greatest college football running back to ever play the game, so keeping pace is more than challenging.

With 4,769 rushing yards, Nick Chubb came closest to breaking Walker’s 5,259 yard record at Georgia.  An ACL injury in Chubb’s sophomore campaign prevented him from hitting the mark though.

The Cleveland Browns running back has rebounded strongly from his college injury, with a stellar rookie year.
