Top Georgia Commit Visits Tennessee; Will Visit Bama Next

Georgia commit Nolan Smith is the top recruit in the entire class of 2019, according to 247 Sports’ player rankings.

The 6’3″ defensive end out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida is a Savannah, Georgia native, who, as you’d expect, is still receiving a ton of attention from top tier programs.

One of those programs would be Tennessee, where Smith made a trip to over the weekend in what was his first of five official visits.

It took the Vols two years to get Smith on campus. Tennessee expressed interest in him back in 2016 when he was finishing his sophomore year of high school.

Then there’s Alabama, where he visited in 2017 and again in early 2018. And next weekend, he will be back in Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl and his second official visit.

In October, Smith tweeted that he would be taking all five of his official visits, so this should not come as a surprise to Georgia fans.

Smith’s commitment, however, seems to be one of the more solid ones in Georgia’s 2019 recruiting class that ranks No. 3 in the nation. Frequent tweets and retweets about UGA prove encouraging that he is currently all-Dawg.

With that being said, it’s hard to fault a kid for looking around and visiting other big time programs. It’s an amazing experience and it allows players to really narrow down on their favorite school.
