Deandre Baker, the winner of the 2018 Jim Thrope Award and top cornerback in college football is officially done playing at Georgia.
A senior out of Miami, Florida, Baker is projected to be a Top 15 pick in this year’s NFL Draft. The Bulldogs’ star defender did not allow a touchdown completion in his junior or senior season on the team.
Baker came into Athens as a 3-star recruit but quickly proved his doubters wrong. Though he did sit out for the Allstate Sugar Bowl, Baker could have left the team before his senior season at Georgia.
Instead, the lockdown cornerback came back to Athens, to finish what he started.
We all wish the outcome of the Allstate Sugar Bowl was different but what’s done is done.
Now, it’s your turn Atlanta Falcons to make the right decision. Let the previous mistakes of passing on Todd Gurley, Nick Chubb, and Sony Michel be a learning lesson before you pass on yet another Bulldog.
Take Deandre Baker. Just trust us on this one.
