As soon as the final second ticks off the clock and the confetti begins to fall, ESPN is already looking ahead to next season’s field of contenders.
The annual ‘way too early Top 25’ has already been revealed, leaving many out there a little bit disappointed.
Georgia comes in at No. 3 on the list, thanks to its cupboard full of young talent and recent success in recruiting.
In total, the SEC got five teams into the Top 10 and seven in the Top 25, which is causing a lot of controversy among fans. Now, I am going to give a fair warning in advance. Remember, this is just a projection that is likely to change before spring practice and means absolutely nothing to your team’s future.
Just think about how teams like Kentucky and Washington State fared this season before losing sleep over these rankings.
Ok, let’s begin.
- Ohio State
- Notre Dame
- Texas A&M
There is a lot of hype to the SEC in these rankings but don’t forget, someone has to lose. Every single one of the conference teams above has to play a few games against the other contenders too. If someone is able to dodge a bullet in the regular season, they must win the conference championship in Atlanta too.
Everything will work itself out, folks. We have an entire offseason to worry about it, however.
